The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is one of Disney's most anticipated fall events. This annual celebration of global cuisine and fine wines attracts foodies and Disney fans alike. Last year, I experienced the festival for the first time and now eagerly await it every fall.

The festival features an impressive selection of international dishes served at kiosks scattered throughout the World Showcase. Each kiosk represents a different country, offering authentic culinary delights. For example, in Morocco, you can savor keftas, delicious pockets of dough filled with spiced meat. The portions are perfect for sampling, allowing you to try multiple dishes without feeling too full.

Entertainment and Strategic Planning

One of the festival's highlights is the live music, with concerts featuring various artists throughout the event. My initial visit was prompted by a concert, and I was pleasantly surprised by the festival's vibrant atmosphere. If you're new to the festival, it helps to go with someone experienced who can guide you through the must-try dishes and drinks. Many regular attendees meticulously plan their visits, mapping out the kiosks and their offerings in advance.

A strategic approach can enhance your festival experience. Grab a menu and plot your route to ensure you hit all the spots you're interested in. This way, you and your companions can each pick your favorites and regroup to enjoy them together. The festival’s drink samples are about three ounces, with food items priced around $4.00 to $5.00 each. Desserts, like the Chocolate Crème Brulée from France, add a sweet touch to your culinary journey.

More Than Just Food and Wine

Beyond the food and drink, the Epcot Food & Wine Festival offers a variety of attractions and activities. Live music, special tastings, and contests provide entertainment for visitors of all ages. Children are welcome, making it a family-friendly event. The festival runs from September 25th to November 8th this year, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy everything it has to offer.

Many festival-goers choose to stay in vacation homes rather than hotels, as these offer more space and private pools. October is an ideal month to visit Orlando, with pleasant weather that’s neither too hot nor too cold.
